Me Made Week Take 5

One thing good about sewing your own clothing is that you have an opportunity to try new things out (I read that from one of my fellow bloggers and I tend to agree). One thing I tried out this year is mixed prints.

These are two prints from Jo-Anns 2013 spring collection. I thought these two fabrics would work well this spring for a knit tee and skirt.

It has taken some getting use to as it was drilled into me from a very young age that you DO NOT mix prints. Phil says he would like to see the skirt with a white top because he can’t “see” the skirt – ha ha ha he isn’t adjusting to the mixed print thing . . . he is really going to be in trouble once I get the hang of it.

I tried to get a close up of the buttons and button holes. This particular shirt  had a few details that helped me with my sewing skills.
